I didn’t take a traditional path.

After a career in men's fashion with stops at GQ and Ralph Lauren, I convinced a little startup called Trunk Club to hire me as a copywriter. The office was cool, the opportunity was ripe, and the money was terrible. I didn't care. In my three years there, I went from writing product descriptions and internal sales emails to leading the writing team, launching national ad campaigns, and guiding creative through a $350 million acquisition by Nordstrom. After a stint selling men's underwear back in NYC, I decided that, well, if "real copywriters" work at agencies that’s where I needed to be, so I joined VSA Partners to work on Google, Hyatt, and CME Group.

While many boast an "entrepreneurial spirit," few have actually taken the journey. I did. I left VSA in 2019 to start a men's skincare company, raised $1 million in venture capital, supported thousands of customers, built a business from scratch, and closed a business from scratch.

Back on the agency side, I'm currently leading creative at Envisionit, a digital firm in Chicago specializing in tourism marketing, drawn by the challenge to do standout work in an industry that rarely pushes boundaries. And if you've made it this far, you might be interested to know that…
